ProfitStars’ Director of Payment Strategies, Deborah Matthews, Elected 2012–2014 Chairperson of NACHA’s Internet Council

Matthews' leadership and expertise to help advance professional standards for electronic commerce

ProfitStars®, a division of Jack Henry & Associates, Inc.® (Nasdaq: JKHY) that provides solutions that improve the performance of financial institutions and diverse corporate entities, announced today its director of payment strategies, Deborah Matthews, has been elected as chairperson of The Internet Council of NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association. Matthews' leadership role becomes effective January 1, 2012.
NACHA represents more than 10,000 financial institutions via 17 regional payments associations and direct membership. It brings together payments system stakeholders to enable innovation that strengthens the industry with creative payment solutions for the ACH network, the backbone for the electronic movement of money and data. The mission of The Internet Council is to advance electronic commerce over open networks by enabling digital business in a straight-through, secure, and cost-effective manner. Highlights of the group’s initiatives include enhancing the integrity and security of the ACH network; developing best practices for data security, fraud management, and authentication; facilitating industry adoption of the NACHA Operating Rules for mobile ACH payments; and continuing education.
Susan Pandy, senior director of Internet and e-Commerce at NACHA, said "Deborah has been a valuable asset to The Internet Council for the last seven years. Her leadership experience, payments expertise, and vision to advance electronic commerce for all stakeholders will have a great impact on the council and its mission."
Matthews has developed strategy and provided counsel for the payments industry for nearly 15 years and currently drives strategic direction and innovation as director of payment strategies for ProfitStars’ Enterprise Payment Solutions group. She also served as vice-chair for NACHA’s Internet Council Steering Committee from 2009 to 2011 and was recently re-elected to NACHA’s Communications and Marketing Advisory Group (CMAG) for 2012-2013. Prior to Jack Henry & Associates, Matthews held leadership positions at ACH Direct and SWACHA.
